What is the difference between a Brazilian wax and a Bikini wax?
The difference is actually all in how far back the waxing goes. While a bikini wax just takes care of the front of your pelvis, a Brazilian wax goes all the way back to make your butt and everything in between to make it all as smooth as can be! The amount of hair remaining in the front though all is up to you. Some girls love to keep a strip or triangle, so the choice is yours.
How long does a Brazilian wax last?
While everyone’s hair grows back at a different rate, we generally see waxing jobs last about 3 to 4 weeks. With that being said, no matter how quickly your hair goes back, make sure your hair is at least 1/4” before your next wax appointment!
How do I prepare for my Brazilian wax?
Preparing for your Brazilian or bikini wax isn’t so different from preparing for any other waxing service, but here are three main things that will help your experience:
Make sure hair is 1/4” long in order to properly remove it and prevent hair breakage
Exfoliate the area to be waxed no less than 2 days prior to your appointment
Stay hydrated and drink plenty of water to make your skin and hair easier to wax
What should I do after my Brazilian or Bikini wax?
Once you finish your appointment, the skin around the waxing area can be sensitive. It’s important that you take care of it by:
Avoiding exercise, tanning or swimming for 24 hours after your appointment to prevent breakouts
Gently exfoliate the waxing area 2 days after your waxing appointment to prevent any ingrown hairs
Can I get a Brazilian wax while on my period or pregnant?
Absolutely! You can definitely get waxed while on your period or while pregnant. It is worth noting, however, that you may experience some increased sensitivity during your bikini or Brazilian wax due to increased blood flow in the area. You may want to take some ibuprofen before you stop by.
Is it safe for me to have sex after getting a Bikini wax?
While we know you’re wanting to get right back to it, with open pores and increased sensitivity, it’s generally best to wait about 24 hours before having sex with a fresh Brazilian or bikini wax in order to avoid any problems with bacteria.
